Community guidelines

Provitude works when people can ask honest career questions and trust the jobs they find. These rules apply to posts, replies, job listings, profiles, expert answers and messages.

Be useful and respectful

  • Share experience, not judgement. Disagree with ideas, never attack people.
  • No harassment, hate, threats or sexual content. No discrimination based on age, disability, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, nationality or any other protected characteristic.
  • Keep private information private — yours and other people’s. Do not post phone numbers, home addresses, ID documents or someone’s salary without their permission.

Job leads and job listings

  • Only share genuine vacancies. Community job leads must link to the original listing; company listings must be posted by someone authorised to hire for that company.
  • Never ask candidates to pay a fee, buy equipment, deposit a cheque, move money, or share bank logins, passwords or ID numbers. Listings that do are removed and the account is suspended.
  • State the real location, eligibility and pay range. Misleading listings are removed.
  • “Verified domain” means the company owner signed in with an email address at the company’s website domain. It is a useful signal, not a guarantee.

Expert advice

  • Experts give preparation advice independently of any application. They must not promise jobs, request payment in answers, or ask for private contact outside Provitude.
  • Experts are reviewed before they can answer. Their title and experience are self-declared and checked for plausibility, not formally verified.

No spam or manipulation

  • No repeated self-promotion, referral codes or link dumping.
  • Do not use multiple accounts to vote, review or apply. Votes measure what the community found useful, not qualification.

How reporting works

  1. Use Report on any post, reply, job, profile, answer or message. Reports are private.
  2. Automatic screening also flags common scam patterns for a moderator.
  3. When three different members report the same content, it is hidden until a moderator reviews it.
  4. Moderators remove content, restore it, or suspend accounts. Reporters and authors are notified of the outcome.

You can also block a member. You will stop seeing their posts and replies, and they cannot send you contact requests or messages.

Staying safe while job hunting

  • Research the company independently. Apply through the official website when you can.
  • Be wary of offers without an interview, pay that seems too high, or pressure to move to a private messaging app.
  • If something feels wrong, stop and report it. You never need to pay to get a job.
