Six tips for a stronger CV
Lead with results, not duties
“Cut refund time from 5 days to 2” says more than “Responsible for refunds”. Use numbers only when you can back them up.
Match it to the job
Use the job ad’s words where they are true for you, and put your most relevant experience first. One CV per type of role is plenty.
Keep the layout plain
One column, standard headings and real text rather than images or tables. That’s what applicant tracking systems (ATS) read most reliably.
Give recent work the space
Most CVs fit on one or two pages. Recent, relevant jobs get the detail; older ones can be a single line.
Show skills, don’t just list them
A skills list is a claim. A bullet that shows the skill in use — or a result someone checked — is evidence.
Check it before you send it
Consistent dates, a professional email, links that work and no typos. Reading it out loud once catches most mistakes.

Is the CV builder free?
Yes. Building, downloading and attaching CVs is free. You need a free account so your draft can be saved privately.
Who can see my CV?
Only you, until you attach it to an application. A company can open an attached CV only after it shortlists you — it looks at your work and answers first. If you delete a CV, companies you applied to can no longer open it. A downloaded PDF goes wherever you send it, and the check link shows only the verified section (see below).
What does “Verified by Provitude” mean?
It’s a separate section that Provitude adds, not text you write. It lists results we checked — VERA Skill Check results, shown as ranges compared with other applicants, and skills backed by reviewed work — with the date they were checked. Employers can confirm them with the link printed on the CV. The rest of your CV, including your jobs, education and contact details, is your own words and isn’t verified.
What does the check link show?
Your name, headline and the verified section, with the date. It doesn’t show your contact details or the rest of your CV, and it isn’t listed in search engines. If you delete the CV, the page says it was withdrawn.
Will it get through applicant tracking systems (ATS)?
Both templates are single-column with standard headings and real, selectable text, which is what ATS software reads most reliably. Nobody can promise how every system treats a CV, so keep the wording clear and relevant to the job.
Can I start from the CV I already have?
Yes. Import a PDF or Word file and the builder shows what it found; nothing changes until you choose what to add. You can also upload a CV as it is and attach that when you apply.
Can I change a CV after saving it for applications?
A saved CV is a fixed copy, so the verified section stays accurate for the date shown. Edit your draft and save again to make a new version, then delete the old one if you like.
