I've sat on both sides of the hiring table — years as an employee working in SEO and software development, then as a business owner hiring people myself. Provitude is what I wished existed on both sides.
I've seen hiring from both sides of the table, and both sides are frustrating.
As an employee, I worked in SEO and software development for agencies and large companies. Along the way I sent out CVs that disappeared without a reply, sat through interviews full of buzzwords, and left wondering what I could have done to show what I was actually good at.
Then I started my own company and ended up on the other side: stacks of applications that all described the same "results-driven team player", interviews with people who sounded great but couldn't do the work, and the uncomfortable feeling that I was probably passing on people who could.
Provitude is my answer to both problems. Job seekers practise real interview questions and apply with a short piece of real work, and employers see that work — reviewed by a person, never rejected by an algorithm — before they decide.
Here I write about interviews, pay, job searching and hiring in plain English. No buzzwords.
